After Hours Business Travel Consultant
Our client is looking for a skilled and calm problem-solver to join their specialist out-of-hours travel team. As an After Hours Business Travel Consultant, you’ll support VIPs, corporate executives, and high-profile clients when they need it most-outside normal office hours.
You’ll handle urgent travel disruptions, last-minute bookings, and complex international itineraries with confidence and discretion. This role is fully remote and ideal for experienced consultants who thrive in high-pressure situations and enjoy working independently.
After Hours Business Travel Consultant – What will I be doing?
Responding to urgent travel requests and itinerary changes during out-of-hours shifts (Monday-Friday 18:00-08:30, weekends, and UK Bank Holidays), working 4 shifts per week (typically 2 midweek and 2 weekend)
Booking flights (including private and commercial), hotels, ground transport, and rail for global travel
Managing travel disruptions and emergencies with practical, fast solutions
Issuing, reissuing, and recalculating international and domestic airfares
Providing a seamless continuation of service from the daytime travel team
Advising clients with expert knowledge and maintaining high customer service standards
Monitoring global events and offering relevant travel risk insights to senior management
Supporting quality control processes when call volumes allow
After Hours Business Travel Consultant – What experience do I need?
Proven experience in a TMC environment handling corporate, VIP, or media travel with at least one year’s experience in OOH.
Proficiency in GDS platforms – Sabre
Strong international fares and ticketing knowledge, including CAT35 and negotiated fare deals
Experience issuing and amending complex itineraries
Fares & Ticketing Level 1 & 2 qualifications (or equivalent practical experience)
Excellent geographical knowledge and understanding of global travel logistics
Confident using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Calm, empathetic approach under pressure-especially during client emergencies
A proactive, flexible mindset with a drive to deliver top-tier service even in challenging situations
Awareness of global news and potential travel disruptions
