UK Tax Manager – Hertfordshire – £65,000–£85,000 DOE Excellent Benefits – Hybrid (2 days office based)
About the Role:
We’re partnering with a leading organisation to recruit a talented UK Tax Manager who will play a pivotal role in managing high-quality UK tax compliance, advisory, and tax technology services. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced tax professional seeking a dynamic role with strong business impact and leadership exposure.
You’ll be the go-to subject matter expert on UK tax matters, supporting decision-making across the business, ensuring robust compliance, and mentoring junior staff. With a focus on continuous improvement, risk management, and leveraging technology, you’ll help shape a modern, high-performing tax function.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance:
Lead the delivery of UK tax compliance across VAT, corporation tax, payroll taxes, withholding tax, and UK tax accounting.
Ensure timely, accurate submissions and compliance cycle delivery
Manage relationships with external advisors, including fee and engagement management
Identify process improvements and embed technical knowledge across the team
Tax Advisory:
Deliver practical, business-focused UK tax advice across multiple areas including VAT, contracts, and tax clauses
Support cross-functional teams with tax implications of projects and initiatives
Maintain strong risk awareness and documentation standards
Build visibility and credibility with senior stakeholders across the UK business
Tax Technology:
Manage and support key tax systems – reporting and testing
UK compliance and indirect tax tools
Drive tax technology strategy and project delivery
Promote smooth technology adoption across the wider tax team
Team Leadership:
Provide coaching and technical mentoring to team members in the UK
Champion knowledge sharing, collaboration, and tax team visibility
Help foster a high-performing, engaged team culture
Key Skills & Expertise:
UK & foreign VAT
Corporation Tax
Payroll taxes, Withholding Tax
UK Tax Accounting & Transfer Pricing principles
Strong grasp of tax technologies and compliance tools
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Project management expertise and ability to handle competing priorities
Commercially minded, proactive, and solutions-oriented
