Veritas Education is working with a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Hackney to recruit a reliable and enthusiastic KS2 General Teaching Assistant. This full-time role is to begin immediately and will involve both general classroom support and working with pupils who need additional help accessing the curriculum.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting learning, particularly for children with additional educational needs.

About the Role:

Supporting the class teacher with daily classroom routines and lesson delivery in Key Stage 2

Working 1:1 and in small groups with children who need help understanding and engaging with lesson content

Supporting pupils with additional needs, such as autism, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties

Adapting materials and activities under the guidance of the teacher and SENCO

Promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all pupils can succeed

The Ideal Candidate:

Experience working with children in a primary school setting, ideally in KS2

Some understanding of special educational needs and inclusive teaching strategies

Patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting learners

Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with pupils and staff

A genuine interest in supporting children’s development and well-being

Requirements:

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)

Right to work in the UK

Relevant references from recent roles in education or childcare
