Reed Practice is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a reputable accounting firm based in Winchester. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Service Charge Accountant to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with a background in property or service charge accounting to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities

As a Service Charge Accountant, your duties will include:

Preparing and reviewing residential and commercial service charge accounts in accordance with lease agreements and industry standards.
Reconciling service charge income and expenditure.
Liaising with property managers, landlords, and tenants to resolve queries and provide financial clarity.
Ensuring compliance with RICS and ARMA guidelines.
Producing year-end accounts and supporting documentation for audit.
Managing budgets and forecasts for service charge funds.
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely reporting.
Supporting junior team members and assisting with process improvements.
Candidate Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

Experience in service charge accounting (residential or commercial).
Strong knowledge of leasehold accounting principles and relevant legislation.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Qube, MRI, or similar property management systems).
Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
AAT qualification or part-qualified ACCA (desirable but not essential).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
