I am supporting an amazing, rapidly expanding, medium-to-large-sizedcharity, which has operational scope across Kent, South-East London, and East Sussex, with their search for a Senior Trusts and Foundations Manager! This role reports to the Director of Fundraising and Communications, with one direct report, and is responsible for leading, developing, and driving a Trusts and Foundations strategy that delivers growth, significantly increases sustainable income, and develops long-term supporter relationships. This role is pivotal in ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of this organisation’s fundraising efforts.
Day-to-day of the role:
Lead the development and implementation of a Trusts and Foundations strategy to meet financial targets and ensure sustainability.
Manage a robust stewardship programme to maintain excellent relationships with long-term, established, and new donors.
Oversee strategic, high-value applications and stewardship, ensuring compliance with all trust funding terms and conditions.
Prepare, write, and present funding proposals, applications, and other communications to achieve agreed objectives.
Conduct regular, high-quality prospecting to grow and develop the pipeline.
Lead and motivate the Trusts and Foundations Team to be innovative, proactive, and solution-focused.
Produce quarterly commentary against KPIs and objectives for Board reports.
Manage the income and expenditure budget, report effectively, and implement contingencies where necessary.
Identify funding opportunities across the organisation and ensure impact is central to all communications.
Ensure the team produces high-quality, compelling, and impactful applications, updates, feedback, and thank you letters, always in line with funders’ criteria and priorities.
Provide effective line management and leadership to the Trusts and Foundations Team and facilitate their professional development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum of five years’ experience in a trusts and foundations role.
Excellent research and analytical skills.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Proven experience in relationship management.
Demonstrable experience of working across teams and departments.
Experience working with a CRM database, preferably RaisersEdge.
Proven experience managing budgets.
Innovative and creative, capable of identifying new opportunities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Line management and personal development experience.
