Senior Pension Administrator

About the Role

We are working with a respected third-party consultancy that is looking to hire a Senior Pension Administrator to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pensions professional with in-depth knowledge of Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes who thrives in a client-focused, fast-paced environment.

You will take ownership of complex casework, mentor junior administrators, and serve as a key point of contact for a portfolio of DB clients. Key Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of DB pension scheme administration, including retirements, transfers, deaths, and benefit calculations.
Act as the main contact for a portfolio of clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
Check and approve work done by junior team members, providing coaching and support as needed.
Ensure all work complies with current legislation, internal procedures, and client SLAs.
Support scheme events such as annual benefit statements, pension increases, and GMP rectification.
Liaise with actuaries, consultants, payroll providers, and trustees where appropriate.
Assist in process improvements and contribute to internal training and knowledge sharing.

Skills & Experience Required

Strong experience in administering Defined Benefit pension schemes.
Solid understanding of current pensions legislation and regulatory requirements.
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
Good interpersonal and client communication skills.
Experience in checking work and mentoring junior staff.
