The Opportunity

Our client, a well-established and rapidly growing retail business based in Leicester, is seeking an ambitious Senior Financial Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. This is a rare opportunity to work directly alongside the Finance Director and contribute to board-level reporting whilst taking ownership of critical financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Excellence:

Lead the annual audit process, acting as primary liaison with external auditors
Prepare comprehensive statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP/IFRS
Drive technical reporting initiatives and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
Produce accurate and timely financial accounts for management and stakeholder reporting

Strategic Involvement:

Present financial insights and analysis directly to board members
Support the Finance Director in strategic decision-making processes
Contribute to business planning and forecasting activities
Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes

What You’ll Bring

Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or equivalent
Experience: Strong background in financial reporting, statutory accounts, and audit management
Technical Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of UK accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Leadership: Proven ability to manage complex projects and work independently
Communication: Excellent presentation skills with confidence to engage at board level
