Senior Accountant – HFG

A growing London market insurer is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process. The role focuses on technical accounting for premiums, claims, and acquisition costs, ensuring accurate underwriting results across Syndicate and Company operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Post and reconcile premiums, claims, acquisition costs in Workday and sub-systems
Lead accounting, reconciliation, control, and analysis tasks related to the technical close process
Liaise with actuarial, underwriting, reinsurance, and IT teams to ensure efficient financial close
Maintain reconciliations between source systems, actuarial data, and the general ledger
Produce accounting and reporting schedules, and perform detailed analysis of underwriting results
Support internal and external audits, ensuring appropriate documentation of financial controls
Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and controls, including testing system changes
Collaborate with teams in the US (Chicago HQ) and support compliance with regulatory requirements

Requirements:

Insurance technical accounting experience (London Market preferred)
Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
Proficient in Workday or similar GL systems; strong Excel skills
Comfortable working with large datasets and cross-functional teams
