Retail Media Strategist wanted to join our Retail Media Activtation Team at VML Enterprise Solutions
The opportunity:
As a Retail Media Strategist, you’ll help shape and deliver cutting-edge retail media programs for our clients, guiding them through a rapidly evolving commerce landscape. You’ll be a trusted advisor, working directly with clients to define strategy, translate objectives into effective retail media plans, and ensure best-in-class activation.
You’ll bridge strategic thinking with practical planning, collaborating across teams to deliver work that is insight-led, effective, and measurable.
What you’ll be doing:
Act as day-to-day client partner on retail media strategy engagements
Lead strategic planning across key retail media channels (onsite, offsite, in-store), aligned to client business goals
Develop strategic frameworks and recommendations for retail media activation and measurement
Translate client objectives into actionable media plans that balance brand and performance outcomes
Manage and optimise retail media campaigns in partnership with planning and activation teams
Build strong relationships with retailer media networks and publisher partners
Deliver clear, persuasive presentations to clients, explaining strategy, rationale, and expected outcomes
Monitor industry trends in retail media, shopper marketing, and ecommerce, sharing insights with clients and internal teams
Champion best practice in measurement, attribution, and incrementality
Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams (creative, data, analytics) to deliver integrated solutions
What we want from you:
Solid experience in retail media, commerce media, or digital media planning with retail media exposure
Strong understanding of the retail media landscape, including retailer networks (e.g., Tesco Media, Nectar360, ASDA Media, Amazon Ads, Walmart Connect)
Ability to develop clear, insight-led strategies aligned to client KPIs
Confident in client-facing settings: able to lead discussions, build trust, and manage expectations
Experience turning business objectives into tactical media plans
Familiarity with media planning and buying tools, retail media measurement approaches, and retail data partnerships
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in parallel
Collaborative approach, comfortable working with diverse teams
If you know some of this, even better:
Agency-side experience with CPG/FMCG or retail clients
Experience across both onsite and offsite retail media
Understanding of incrementality testing, MMM, or advanced measurement approaches
