Role Summary

An opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented mid-level quant developer to join Mesarete Capital, a London-based Emerging Market Credit Investment Manager, and help develop and maintain the company’s technical infrastructure. Whilst the initial work is likely to focus on investment team tools and be supervised by our QA, the role is cross business. You will formally report to the COO and are expected to quickly become the go to person for all technical matters across Mesarete, helping the non-investment team with their own development requirements (often more leadership/guidance to support the empowerment to build things themselves), along with assisting with our portfolio management system and other matters that come along. We are looking for a good all-rounder with a collaborative and pro-active mindset, someone that understands the needs of the business and can be productive.

Mesarete Capital is a discretionary investment management firm launched in 2021, with a team of 23, primarily based in London and 3 team members in the US.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain ETL pipeline
Incorporate new datasets
Build tools to interrogate and visualize data
Extend existing libraries and build APIs
Provide technical support across business teams

Required Qualifications and Experience

Strong Python programming skills
Experience with data science libraries (pandas, numpy, statsmodels)
Object-oriented programming knowledge
SQL and database architecture understanding
GitHub version control proficiency
Mathematical and statistical concepts knowledge

Educated to at least degree level in a STEM subject

At least 3 full years financial services applied QD experience

Preferred Qualifications

Data visualization tools experience (seaborn, matplotlib, plotly)
Web visualization tools knowledge (Flask, Dash, D3, JavaScript, React)
Machine learning and AI technologies experience
LLM API or local LLM instance experience
