Our client, based near Saffron Walden, is looking for a Quality Administrator to join them on a 12 month fixed term contract. This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday. No previous experience in Quality Administration is required so this is a great opportunity for candidates looking to move into this area of work. The Quality Administrator will report to the Quality Manager and will be required to support the day to day running of the company Quality Management System (QMS). The Quality Administrator will also spend time supporting the Laboratory Operations group, focusing on Health and Safety within laboratory operations (the approximate split will be 60% quality, 40% lab ops.)
Responsibilities will include:
Supporting colleagues with the effective documentation and close out of Quality Event actions to agreed timelines
Co-ordinating periodic review of procedures with various stakeholders to agreed timelines
Managing the purchasing and administration of external standards
Supporting the management and reporting of Quality Management System (QMS) training across the business
Supporting the qualification, administration and management of approved suppliers
Supporting the closeout of alarms from the Environmental Monitoring System and assisting in maintaining our client’s equipment management system(s), including tracking calibration, maintenance, and service schedules to ensure compliance and readiness
Assisting with procurement activities, including but not limited to obtaining quotes, raising purchase orders, and coordinating both onsite and offsite equipment servicing
Supporting the maintenance and oversight of action trackers, incident logs, and other operational records used by the LabOps and EHS teams to ensure timely follow-up and accountability
Overseeing the update and maintenance of templates and controlled documents for LabOps and EHS, ensuring version control and compliance with document management procedures
Assisting in managing lab access permissions and tracking mandatory training completion to support site compliance and safety
Providing flexible administrative assistance as needs arise, supporting continuous improvement in our client’s systems and operations.
Candidates will need to have the following skills and experience to be suitable for this role:
Good organisational and time management skills
Good communication skills
Good working knowledge of MS Office
Confidence working in digital systems and document control platforms
Experience of working within a certified QMS (e.g. ISO 9001 or ISO 13485)
Experience working within a technical or regulated product environment
Excellent attention to detail
There is an option for hybrid working, but the majority of days (minimum 3) will need to be office based due to the role supporting lab operations. Due to the rural location, candidates will need to have their own transport to get to work.
