Purchasing Manager – Northwich – Competitive Salary + Benefits

A leading organisation is seeking a Purchasing Manager to oversee and optimise their procurement operations across multiple sites. About the Role:

As Purchasing Manager, you will lead a team of Category Managers and Purchasing Administrators, reporting to the Head of Purchasing. You’ll be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely acquisition of quality goods and services. This role is pivotal in driving cost-efficiency, compliance, and innovation across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality and reliability
Monitor market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities
Oversee inventory levels and coordinate demand forecasting
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards
Lead and develop the purchasing team through coaching and structured development plans
Manage procurement budgets and track KPIs
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and HR teams
Promote a proactive safety culture and support CSR initiatives

What We’re Looking For:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar purchasing/procurement role
Proven team management experience
Strong analytical and negotiation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
Structured, organised, and deadline-driven
Member of CIPS (desirable)
Experience in the dairy industry (desirable)
