About The Company
Farrer Barnes are delighted to be assisting a successful and well-regarded company near Canterbury, Kent. Our client is committed to ensuring their financial processes run smoothly and are looking for a dedicated Accounts Assistant to join their team on a permanent, part-time basis.
The Role
As an Account Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring all the business’s accounts and transactions are processed and reconciled accurately and in a timely manner. This on-site position requires you to work roughly 20 hours per work, with flexibility on how the hours are worked.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately enter and reconcile financial data, including invoices, payments, and receipts
Maintain up-to-date records for both accounts payable and receivable
Monitor outstanding balances and carry out credit control activities to ensure timely payments
Assist with HMRC reporting requirements, including VAT and duty documentation
Support the preparation of financial summaries and assist with month-end processes as needed
Use Excel and accounting software (e.g. Xero) to track, manage, and analyse transactions
Desirable Skills
Competence in Excel and other financial software
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
