Fractional Head of Finance | TV&Film Distribution Business | 2 days p/w | Outside IR35

Harmonic are proud to be exclusively partnering with a dynamic, fast-growing media and content distribution company as they look to bring in a Fractional Head of Finance on a part-time basis. This fractional role offers 2 days per week on a flexible, hybrid basis and will be offered initially as a 6-month contract, Outside IR35.

The Client:

Our client is a forward-thinking, entrepreneurial group operating at the intersection of media, content distribution, and digital innovation. With a mission to reshape how rights holders monetise and distribute their content globally, they provide end-to-end services across VOD platforms, FAST channels, and traditional distribution.

With a turnover at circa £4 million, the group includes two complementary entities: one focused on cutting-edge content delivery and monetisation (including a growing portfolio of FAST channels and YouTube operations), and the other offering transparent, producer-first distribution services across multiple genres. Together, they manage thousands of hours of premium content and partner with both established and emerging producers globally.

With a passionate leadership team, deep industry experience, and a commitment to operational excellence, the business is entering an exciting scale-up phase. The culture is collaborative, agile, and driven by innovation.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the CEO and COO and working closely with the senior leadership team, this is a strategic and hands-on position designed for an experienced finance leader who thrives in fast-moving environments. The successful candidate will bring strong financial oversight, support commercial decision-making, and ensure compliance and reporting excellence across the group.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts including cash flow, P&L, and balance sheet.
Prepare consolidated quarterly group accounts with detailed commentary.
Deliver ad hoc analysis and insight to support commercial decision-making, including M&A activity and new revenue initiatives.
Lead the annual budgeting process and manage quarterly forecasts, partnering with key departmental leads.
Maintain a rolling weekly cash flow forecast.
Prepare and oversee monthly payment runs and monitor all banking activity.
Ensure timely submission of VAT, PAYE, and Corporate Tax returns.
Oversee monthly producer royalty reporting processes across the group.
Coordinate the year-end audit process with external auditors.
Implement and maintain strong financial controls and internal procedures.
