Financial Controller (INTERIM) – Financial Services / Banking

Birmingham

c. £600-£700 per day (outside IR35)

6 – 12 month contract.

Flexible working (one day per week in office)

Financial Services / Banking experience essential

Our client, a FTSE 100 financial services PLC based in The Midlands requires a qualified Financial Controller with experience of the financial services / banking sector.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead a team of c. 15 – 20 people through a period of transformation / restructure / change.

You will be a qualified ACA /ACCA / CIMA finance professional with 10 years+ post qualified experience in financial services, banking or another regulated industry or PLC.

You will be responsible for

Monthly / annual financial reporting to group parent company
Managing audit requirements
Statutory / regulatory returns
Tax
Treasury
Project work including acquisitions / disposals
Process improvement
Financial Modelling
Support finance departments interaction with both group finance and operational business
Manage team of c. 15-20 ( 3 DRs)

You will work closely with colleagues in commercial finance and operations. You will need excellent team leadership and communication skills and the credibility to work with senior management / the board to drive the business forward. You may be required to stand-in for the CFO.

This is a high profile role in a fast moving / change environment.

You will be a qualified accountant with a strong track record in technical financial accounting / reporting, coupled with strong leadership / operational ability.

Experience of working in financial services / banking (exposure to FCA / PRA ) essential.
