Morgan McKinley is partnering with a leading private banking and asset management firm in the heart of London, who are currently seeking a Financial Control Officer to join their high-performing Financial Control & Reporting team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking to develop a their skill set in financial control within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

The Role

As Financial Control Officer, you’ll support the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting across a number of UK entities. Your day-to-day will include preparation of month-end P&L and balance sheet reporting, VAT workings, reconciliations, and oversight of the Accounts Payable process. You’ll also play a hands-on role in the annual audit process and the preparation of financial statements.

This is an excellent platform for someone early in their finance career, offering broad exposure across core accounting processes and direct involvement with business leaders. Working in a busy team of 5, you’ll report into a supportive and impressive Director of Financial Control, who will help you progress towards qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation of month-end financial reporting for UK business units, including intercompany postings and commentary on variances.

Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.

Contribution to monthly cost analytics and support for wider Financial Control team.

Ownership of Accounts Payable (mostly automated) – including supplier onboarding, issue resolution, and payment approvals.

Preparation of VAT returns across multiple UK entities.

Support in the year-end audit process, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor queries.

Drafting financial statement notes for external reporting.

About You:

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Actively studying towards ACCA/ACA.

Experience in Financial Services or within a Big 4 accountancy firm auditing the Financial Services industry.

Strong Excel and analytical skills with a high attention to detail.

Self-starter with a strong desire to progress.

Excellent communication skills and confident liaising with stakeholders across all levels.

Able to manage conflicting deadlines and thrive under pressure.
