Financial Accountant

We’re working with a leading Higher Education organisation who is seeking a Financial Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant who is looking to take ownership of financial reporting, treasury management, and financial controls, while also supporting and developing a small team.

The Role

Reporting to the Group Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for:
Preparing and reviewing annual financial statements and supporting the audit process
Managing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring robust financial controls
Overseeing treasury management, cashflow monitoring and forecasting
Supporting external reporting requirements (including UK GAAP, US GAAP and regulatory returns)
Supervising and developing up to 3 junior staff
Driving continuous improvement across processes and reporting

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

Is a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
Has strong technical knowledge of financial accounting and reporting standards
Brings experience in preparing consolidated financial statements and supporting audits
Enjoys working with detail and driving process improvements
Has excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
