Finance Manager

RK Accountancy are partnering with a well established client based in the Wigan area, who are seeking a commercial Finance Manager. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for day-to-day financial operations, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring robust financial control across a multi-site business.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

– Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and management information packs
– Monitor KPIs and operational performance across contracts, driving cost control and profitability
– Lead budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with operational teams
– Support the FD with cash flow forecasting and working capital management
– Ensure compliance with financial standards, company policies, and external regulations

Business Partnering

– Collaborate with Operations Managers, Area Managers and Site GMs to provide financial insight and challenge assumptions
– Support pricing models, tenders, and contract reviews for new and existing business
– Provide financial onboarding and analysis for new catering sites
– Improve financial awareness across the organisation through training and support

Controls & Compliance

– Maintain and improve financial processes, controls, and reporting standards
– Oversee key areas such as payroll accuracy, and revenue recognition
– Liaise with auditors, banks, and external advisers as required
– Ensure accurate and contract-compliant accounting for all business units

Team Leadership

– Supervise and develop a finance team of 11 staff
– Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the finance function

Person Specification

Essential

– Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
– Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience in a similar role
– Proven experience in a multi-site, service-based or contract-led business
– Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
– Confident communicator with the ability to partner with non-finance colleagues
– Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Desirable

– Previous experience in hospitality, FMCG or facilities management sector
– Systems experience in Access (preferred, but not essential)
