Our client, a well established family run business within the joinery design space, is looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to join their small, friendly team based at their offices in Reading. They have a strong reputation for being very professional and easy to work with. Their Finance Director is looking for someone who loves numbers to come and assist him from a Finance Admin capacity, with a view to progressing into Financial Controller
Responsibilities:
Coordinate the timely input of project data (particularly Timesheet records)
Support with timely (eventually live) internal project reporting – costs vs budget and forecasting
Oversee accounts payable ledger (including subcontractors) and draft timely payment runs
Order processing and client invoicing/debt chasing
Support with scaling the process’s and systems in the department to support business growth
Provide reporting to aid wider-business forecasting (GBS)
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
Work closely with senior management to support strategic planning and growth

Practical knowledge & ability
IT proficient
Proven track record of successfully managing similar technical processes.
Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Passion for numbers
Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Adept with Excel and experience with accounting software
Good communication skills to work across departments and with external partners
Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise tasks independently
Benefits
07:30-16:30 Monday- Friday with 30mins for lunch (Can be Flexible on hours)
£30,000- £40,000 basic salary plus Profit Share Scheme
22 paid days leave, increasing by 1 day for every 2 year’s service to a total of 25 days.
