Role Overview
We are instructed by a leading national law firm to recruit a Senior Associate / Legal Director into their highly regarded Employment team, based in Birmingham.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing practice with a strong reputation for handling complex and high-profile employment law matters. The role will see you advising a diverse client base on both contentious and non-contentious issues, while also taking a leadership role within the team.
Key responsibilities include:
Advising on a wide range of employment law matters including redundancies, grievances, TUPE, absence management and Settlement Agreements
Representing clients in Employment Tribunal proceedings and higher court cases
Leading on client relationships and contributing to business development initiatives
Supporting, mentoring and developing junior lawyers within the team
Working collaboratively with colleagues across departments to deliver excellent client service

Candidate Profile/Experience Needed
We are looking for an experienced employment lawyer who can combine strong technical ability with commercial awareness and leadership skills.
The ideal candidate will:
Be an experienced employment solicitor (Senior Associate level or above) with proven expertise across a full spectrum of employment law
Have experience handling complex tribunal claims and advisory work for a diverse client base
Be commercially minded with the ability to build and sustain client relationships
Demonstrate leadership qualities, with experience mentoring or managing junior colleagues
Be collaborative, forward-thinking, and motivated to help shape the future of the practice
