A great opportunity has arisen for a recent graduate with a passion for writing and some experience in marketing to join a publishing company’s editorial team.
The role, which can be based in either their office in Central London or in St Albans, will involve managing digital content across the company’s industry-leading websites, e-newsletters and social media platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong editorial eye and excellent digital skills.
Role and responsibilities:
Edit and format press releases for clarity, accuracy, consistency and according to house style.
Source, pitch and write relevant news articles for the websites, and generate ideas for in-depth online features.
Ensure all content adheres to house style, tone, and editorial standards.
Compile and produce weekly industry news e-newsletters for websites.
Design and schedule email campaigns for magazine releases, news updates and partnership announcements
Monitor newsletter performance (open rates, click-throughs) and suggest improvements.
Manage day-to-day operations of the organisation’s social media accounts (X, LinkedIn, Facebook).
Write, schedule, and publish posts that promote press releases, events, and other key content.
Monitor engagement and respond to comments/messages where appropriate.
Track performance metrics and produce basic reports on audience growth and engagement.
Skills & experience required:
Proven experience in digital journalism, content creation, or communications.
Strong writing and editing skills with excellent attention to detail.
Experience working with CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress, Drupal).
Familiarity with email marketing tools and analytics (e.g. Mailchimp, GA4).
Proficiency in using major social media platforms for professional communications.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of SEO best practices for web content would be ideal
Basic graphic design or multimedia skills (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) would be ideal
