Elevation Recruitment Group is proud to be working in partnership with a fast-growing international organisation to recruit a Credit Controller based in Sheffield.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced credit control professional to join a thriving team and play a vital role in supporting financial operations and maintaining strong customer relationships across a diverse client base – from SMEs to large enterprises.
Location: Sheffield City Centre – Hybrid working (4 days in office, 1 day remote)
Hours: Full-time
Duties & Responsibilities of the Credit Controller:
As Credit Controller, you’ll take ownership of the accounts receivable process, working to ensure timely collections and maintaining accurate records. Your key responsibilities will include:
Cash Collection & Aged Debt Management – Producing weekly aged debt reports and following up on outstanding payments via phone and email to improve cash flow and reduce debtor days
Customer Relationship Management – Liaising with clients to resolve queries and ensure invoices are paid promptly
Collaborative Problem-Solving – Working closely with the AR Team Lead to review accounts and escalate any disputes or complex issues
Reconciliations & Investigations – Identifying and resolving discrepancies such as overpayments, short payments or incorrect billing
Target-Driven Delivery – Meeting monthly collection goals while supporting a positive and collaborative team environment
What we’re looking for:
At least 1 year of experience in a similar credit control or finance role
A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently
Strong interpersonal skills and confidence in dealing with both customers and colleagues
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical, organised mindset
Competency in Excel and standard office software
Strong verbal and written communication skills – fluency in English required
Additional European language skills (e.g., Dutch, French, German, Italian) are highly desirable
