What you’ll do:

In the capacity of Commercial Litigation Senior Lawyer based in Bristol, you will:

Oversee your own portfolio of commercial litigation matters, ensuring all tasks are executed efficiently and in accordance with departmental protocols.
Provide guidance, support, and training to junior team members to facilitate their professional growth within the department.
Cultivate enduring relationships with clients through regular correspondence, clear advice regarding progress and costs, and prompt responses to queries via email or telephone.
Undertake fee-earning activities that contribute positively to departmental profitability by achieving monthly individual fee and time targets.
Address a comprehensive range of disputes including contractual issues between businesses, commercial contracts, corporate acquisitions disputes, professional negligence claims, director/partnership/shareholder disputes, unfair prejudice claims, insolvency matters, and debt recovery.
Prepare cost estimates for clients, issue letters of engagement, draft pleadings and statements, assemble court bundles, and manage all documentation pertinent to litigation processes.
Advise clients on alternative dispute resolution mechanisms such as mediation when appropriate to secure effective outcomes outside formal court proceedings.
Participate in advocacy before the courts where necessary while always considering cost-benefit analysis for clients’ interests.
Contribute to marketing strategies by attending networking events, developing new sources of work, assisting with departmental web content and marketing materials, and supporting submissions to legal directories such as Legal 500 and Chambers UK.
Ensure strict compliance with office procedures and Solicitors Accounts Rules whilst maintaining current knowledge of relevant law and practice.

You are a qualified solicitor or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (FCILEx) with no less than five years’ post-qualification experience specifically within commercial litigation settings.
