We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to join our ambitious lettings agency. In this role, you’ll play a key part in expanding our landlord and rental property portfolio while shaping strategic partnerships that drive growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Identifying New Business Opportunities:
Proactively research the local property market to identify and pursue new landlord clients, corporate lettings, and potential partnerships. Leverage market intelligence to spot trends, competitor activity, and untapped opportunities.
Growing the Landlord & Property Portfolio:
Develop strategies to attract new landlords and expand the agency’s portfolio of rental properties. Identify high-value landlords and tailor pitches to meet their needs and expectations.
Building and Maintaining Relationships:
Establish and nurture long-term relationships with landlords, developers, relocation agents, and other key partners. Act as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for clients, ensuring ongoing satisfaction and repeat business.
Lead Generation & Prospecting:
Utilize a variety of methods including networking, digital marketing, cold outreach, local events, and referral programs to generate quality leads.
Sales Strategy & Execution:
Work with lettings team to design and implement growth-focused campaigns. Shape value propositions, pricing strategies, and sales tactics specific to the lettings market.
Negotiating and Securing Business:
Lead negotiations with new landlords, managing the full cycle from pitch to signed agreement. Ensure mutually beneficial terms while safeguarding agency interests.
Pipeline and Performance Management:
Maintain and track a robust sales pipeline using CRM tools. Monitor progress toward monthly and quarterly acquisition targets, and adjust strategies based on performance metrics.
Market Intelligence & Reporting:
Provide regular insights to senior management on market conditions, competitor activity, and pipeline health. Recommend actionable steps to refine business development tactics.
What We’re Looking For
Excellent Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to build rapport with a wide range of clients, from individual landlords to large property investors.
Sales & Negotiation Expertise:
Proven track record of converting leads into long-term clients, with strong closing and deal-structuring capabilities.
Lettings Market Knowledge:
Experience in the residential lettings sector or property industry is highly desirable.
Analytical & Research Skills:
Comfortable conducting market analysis, using CRM systems, and reporting performance insights.
Commercial Acumen:
Strong understanding of rental yields, property investment drivers, and lettings compliance.
Self-Motivation & Initiative:
A proactive, target-driven approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
Organisational & Project Management Skills:
Efficient in planning client acquisition campaigns and managing multiple leads simultaneously.
