Assistant Financial Accountant

Altum Consulting is proud to be working with a respected UK charity during a period of transition in their search for an experienced Assistant Financial Accountant. This is an interim role which offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the charity’s mission while enhancing financial operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work closely with the Finance team to maintain accurate and timely financial reporting, assisting across a broad range of accounting tasks:

Support the month-end process: accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, and payroll journals

Management of accounts payable and accounts receivables using best practice

Provide hands-on support with day-to-day financial processing

Share knowledge and offer training to finance and non-finance colleagues

Help document and streamline financial procedures

Contribute to finance projects including systems enhancements, control improvements, and ad hoc reporting

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for finance professionals with a proactive, detail-oriented approach:

Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting systems

Solid background in financial reporting and month-end processes

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Confident communicator who enjoys problem-solving and working collaboratively

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment

Proactive and self-motivated
