AAT Accountancy Trainee

We are looking to recruit a dynamic individual who has current UK practice experience and who will have ideally achieved AAT level 3 but now wants to kick-start their accountancy career.

We work with Coventry & Warwickshire Training to provide first class AAT training on a day-release basis. Preference will be given to candidates at the end of their AAT level 3 studies or starting their AAT level 4.

In turn we will provide you with secure employment in a highly regarded accountancy practice with a proven track record over 40 years. Trainees can continue with their AAT and then progress onto ACCA which is fully funded by the practice

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

The following are the key duties falling within the above job purpose and job title – not an exhaustive list of duties.

Providing bookkeeping and VAT support using a variety of software packages including Sage, Xero and Quickbooks.
Assisting with the payroll bureau as and when required.
Assisting with the preparation of accounts and tax computations for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
Practice administration using Practice Management software.
Providing general administrative assistance and reception cover when required.
Assisting with Audits as required.

Location: Binley Road, Coventry, CV3 1JN (Office based)

Hours: Monday to Friday – 37 ½ hours per week, normally between 9:00am to 5:00pm. We do offer a degree of flexible working, providing 37 ½ hours are worked in the week. Paid overtime can be worked if necessary.

Holidays: 20 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays per year. This is increased by one day a year, to a maximum of 5 additional days, after five years’ service
