Marks Sattin are delighted to be working exclusively with a well-established, privately owned food manufacturer to recruit an International Tax Manager to join their senior finance team.

As International Tax Manager, you will take ownership of UK and European tax compliance, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and robust governance. You will partner with internal stakeholders, lead external advisors where required, and advise on direct, employment, and international tax matters. This is a hands-on role with both strategic and operational elements.

Key Responsibilities

Lead UK tax compliance: manage corporate tax returns, tax provisions, R&D credit calculations, Quality Income Projections (QIP), annual Controlled Foreign Company (CFC) reviews.
Oversee European compliance via external advisers, ensuring deadlines and regulatory frameworks are adhered to.
Conduct annual SAO (Senior Accounting Officer) reviews; implement and maintain internal controls.
Serve as a business partner to various stakeholders across the finance and operational functions to ensure tax deadlines are met and risks are managed.
Manage relationships with tax advisors; respond to ad-hoc direct tax queries.
Assist with issues relating to global mobility, Permanent Establishment (PE) risk, employment tax risk.
Maintain correspondence with tax authorities: drafting letters, completing forms for treaty relief, etc.
Assist with budget and reconciliation tasks as required; support during tax audits.
Contribute to international tax areas: CFC rules, anti-hybrid legislation, transfer pricing, and compliance with Pillar 2 provisions.

What We’re Looking For

A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
Significant experience in tax management or similar senior tax role, ideally including both UK and European compliance environments.
Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret and apply complex tax legislation.
Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail.
Effective communicator: comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, diverse teams, and external advisors.

What We Offer

Exposure to a broad tax remit in a business operating across multiple jurisdictions.
The chance to influence tax strategy and governance in a growing organisation.
A supportive work environment; opportunity to work closely with senior leadership.
Scope for professional growth, particularly in international tax, transfer pricing and global mobility areas.

If you are a tax specialist who thrives on both hands-on technical work and strategic influence, this is a role with real responsibility in a business where you can make your mark.
