Job Title:

Special Projects Project Surveyor – Cladding and Fire Safety Specialist

Location: North London

Salary:

£58,417 per annum

Plus up to 5% performance bonus

Reports To:

Head of Special Projects

Indirectly to Assistant Director – Major Projects

Role Overview

My client a well-known social housing organisation located in North London is seeking an experienced Project Surveyor to manage and lead Fire and Cladding remediation projects across the client’s residential stock spanning North and East London.

Applicants will need to be Chartered – RICS / MRICS or other relevant technical qualification i.e CIOB

As a Special Projects Project Surveyor, you will lead the delivery of latent defect remediation projects, with a strong focus on cladding and fire safety.

This role combines technical expertise, project management, and stakeholder engagement to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality outcomes for residents and stakeholders.

You’ll be instrumental in driving performance, ensuring value for money, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

?? Project Leadership & Delivery

Manage major remedial works projects from inception to completion.
Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to high standards.
Develop and monitor programmes to address latent defects.

?? Technical Oversight

Ensure all works meet building regulations and fire safety standards.
Provide robust, cost-effective technical solutions.

?? Stakeholder Engagement

Liaise with residents, commercial tenants, and other stakeholders.
Provide regular updates, including out-of-hours meetings (evenings/weekends as required).
Handle complaints and facilitate access or decanting for works.

?? Procurement & Contract Management

Procure and manage contracts for consultants and contractors.
Monitor contractor performance and ensure proper documentation (O&M manuals, H&S files).

?? Compliance & Safety

Ensure health and safety compliance across all projects.
Minimise risk exposure and follow internal safety procedures.

?? Team Collaboration & Reporting

Contribute to team strategies, budgets, and funding bids.
Prepare reports for senior leadership and support legal processes related to latent defect claims.

What You’ll Bring

Proven experience in managing large-scale remedial works, especially cladding/fire safety.
Strong technical knowledge of building regulations and compliance.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to lead teams and manage complex projects.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
