We are partnering with a market-leading private healthcare business to appoint a General Counsel – a career-defining opportunity for a senior lawyer to step into the heart of one of the UK’s most dynamic and ambitious medical organisations.
Sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, you will be the principal legal adviser to the Board, shaping strategy, guiding complex decisions, and ensuring the business continues to operate at the highest standards of governance and compliance. With major growth plans underway, this is a rare chance to play a pivotal role at the intersection of law, healthcare, and business.
What you’ll be doing:
Acting as trusted counsel to the Board and Executive Team on legal, regulatory, and governance matters.
Leading the in-house legal function, setting strategy and building a high-performing team.
Driving and advising on major transactions – including M&A, partnerships, and joint ventures.
Navigating the complex regulatory environment of UK healthcare with confidence and authority.
Influencing key stakeholders and distilling complex issues into clear, commercial recommendations.
What we’re looking for:
A qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with 10+ years’ PQE.
Senior leadership experience, ideally as General Counsel or senior in-house counsel in healthcare or another regulated sector.
Proven expertise across commercial, corporate, and regulatory law.
Strong knowledge of UK healthcare regulation and governance.
Exceptional communicator and influencer, with a track record of advising Boards.
A natural leader, able to inspire teams and build credibility across the business.
Desirable experience includes:
Private healthcare or NHS partnerships.
M&A and investment transactions.
International legal/regulatory exposure.
Postgraduate corporate governance qualifications.
