Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Legal Secretary to support our busy Conveyancing department. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of property transactions by providing comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to fee earners and solicitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and format legal documents, correspondence, and contracts related to residential and commercial property transactions.
Manage diaries, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings for conveyancing solicitors.
Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other third parties to facilitate the conveyancing process.
Open and close client files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with regulatory standards.
Maintain and update case management systems and databases.
Handle telephone and email enquiries professionally and efficiently.
Assist with billing, invoicing, and other financial administration tasks.
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with GDPR and other relevant legislation.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within a conveyancing or property law environment.
Excellent typing and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge of conveyancing procedures and terminology is highly desirable.
