Job Title: Night Porter
Location: Kensington, West End
Hours: Full-time, permanent – (7pm – 7am, 4 on / 4 off)
Salary: £28,044 per annum

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and professional Night Porter to join our team at a leading sixth-form college in London, supporting the luxury boarding and events facility. This role involves supporting the smooth operational delivery of the building during night shifts, ensuring that residents, guests, and event clients receive an exceptional level of service.

You will play a key role in maintaining the security, presentation, and readiness of the site, as well as assisting with event preparation and customer support.

Responsibilities

Provide a warm, professional welcome to residents, guests, and event attendees.
Prepare event and conference rooms according to client specifications, including set-up, layout adjustments, and catering arrangements.
Assist with serving refreshments and catering during events.
Conduct regular patrols of the building to ensure cleanliness, safety, and security at all times.
Respond promptly to cleaning requirements, spills, or maintenance issues.
Support the delivery and smooth running of large events as directed by the Events and Buildings Manager.
Handle customer requests quickly and professionally, ensuring a positive experience.
Assist with the coffee shop operation, stock management, and orders as needed.
Monitor and report any health and safety or security concerns immediately.

About You

Previous experience in hospitality, events, facilities roles or education settings highly desirable (experience with manual handling essential).
Knowledge of audio-visual (AV) and IT equipment set-up is desirable.
Strong communication skills with a professional and approachable manner.
Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing requirements.
A team player with the ability to work independently when required.
Proactive, organised, and attentive to detail.
Interest in events or hospitality, with a desire to develop further in the industry.
