Job TitleMulti Trader – (L3Z2 – mid)Job Purpose
Carry out professional building repairs, renewals, and refurbishment work across council housing and premises, including both reactive and programmed tasks. Apply your skills in up to four different trades to deliver high-quality repairs and occupational therapy adaptations in both occupied and void properties.
Duties & Responsibilities
Complete building repairs, maintenance, and replacements to the highest standards in line with current regulations.
Diagnose building faults and implement cost-effective and lasting solutions to prevent repeat issues.
Work independently in occupied homes, ensuring all tenants and public interactions reflect positively on the council.
Collaborate with Repairs Team Supervisors to provide timely progress updates and meet service objectives.
Maintain accurate work records, timesheets, material requisitions, and daily documentation.
Uphold health & safety standards at all times, ensuring compliance and best practice.
Undertake work at height using ladders, trestles, platforms, or scaffolding as required.
Requirements
Proficient in at least four of: Plumbing, Carpentry, Plastering, Electrical (preferably Part P), Tiling, Painting & Decorating, Gas Safe registered.
Completed a recognised apprenticeship/city & guilds/NVQ qualification, or equivalent time-served experience.
Valid Full UK driving licence, business insurance, and own vehicle required.
Must have own professional tools and drills.
Excellent customer service and communication skills essential.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Desirable
Experience with council or social housing, including void or occupied properties, and occupational therapy adaptations.
17th Edition BS7671:2008 (if electrical), Gas Safe registration (if gas), Part P qualification (if applicable).
