Job Overview
Reporting directly to the Payments Team Senior, this role is ideal for a bright, confident, and positive individual with strong communication skills. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in Credit Control, Customer Service, or a similar department, and will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and supportive team environment.
The post holder will embrace the challenge of delivering outstanding performance as an active team member, focusing on both excellence in cash collection and achieving targets in a client-focused environment. A pragmatic, commercial approach to problem-solving, along with strong negotiation skills, is essential for success in this rewarding role.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Take full ownership of a daily call schedule for overdue client accounts.
Handle payment and service queries primarily via telephone, with additional communication through email and letters.
Deliver exceptional customer service, accurately recording client interactions and maintaining up-to-date account information in the system.
Process debit/credit card payments.
Collaborate with the Client Experience and Client Retention teams, adhering to internal processes to ensure smooth account management for clients.
Identify and act on retention opportunities to support business growth.
Process client account adjustments as required.
When all collection efforts have been exhausted, provide a detailed case history to escalate to the Payments Team Senior.
Role Metrics
Adhere to individual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for both internal and external stakeholders.
Achieve excellence in client engagement, cash collection, rescheduling arrears, Direct Debit coverage, outbound call targets, and debtor day reduction.
Maintain a high level of attendance and punctuality.
