Graduate – Assistant Product Developer – Beauty

An excellent opportunity available for a Assistant Product Developer to join a fast growing, beauty company who supply both private label and branded products to leading retailers

The role will be working within a fast-paced New Product Development department assisting the Project Management Team to successfully deliver projects to our worldwide customers.

You will be an integral part of the team liaising with all areas of the business to support design, arranging product and cosmetics samples, product costing and reviewing technical issues. Ideally you will have a creative eye, excellent problem-solving skills and great attention to detail.

The Role:

Liaise with the Graphics team to prioritise design and artwork creation.
Cosmetic colour development, building colour ranges with customers based on sales performance and seasonal trends.
Arranging cosmetic and component samples, reviewing any sampling problems using creative solutions to deliver high quality products
Sample review and testing, ensure all packaging and cosmetic samples are fit for purpose and meet sensory requirements.
Product design. Supporting the NPD team ensuring all products meet the customer design brief and comply with regulations.
Co-ordinate and manage the creation of new products working closely with UK & China based teams.
Participate and make a positive contribution in design briefings between the NPD, Technical, Merchandiser and Graphics teams
Communicate with the China team to resolve queries and ensure key information is supplied in a timely manner
Generate product costings to support customer quotations, including negotiating savings with China team
Project Management cover during holidays.

Skills Required:

Keen interest in cosmetic products and trends
Must be flexible and responsive working on a high volume of projects at one time.
Creative eye and strong attention to detail.
Good communication skills
Ability to build strong internal relationships across all areas of the business in particular NPD, Graphics, Technical and the China team.
Competent IT skills.
