UX Designer/Production Designer

Contract Role – UX Designer/Production Designer – London/Hybrid – Contract till May 26 – Inside IR35 PAYE

We are seeking a skilled UX Designer/Production Designer to join the UI Foundations Design team, working on priority initiatives across chat app/ messaging app. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the core design infrastructure for one of the world’s most widely used communication platforms. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of design consistency, operational excellence, and creative innovation – helping build, scale, and maintain the chat app/ messaging app Design System as it evolves to serve billions of users globally.

Role Overview:

Job Title: UX Designer/Production Designer
Location: London/Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)
Contract Type: Contract
Duration: Contract till May 26

Design systems background (Minimum 3 years)
Strong visual design experience (Must have visual design experience)
Experience designing mobiles systems. iOS and Android (3 years)
Include link to website/ case study or portfolio in CV
Good understanding of iOS and Android
Building a large design system and a large Tech company
Experience leveraging AI for innovation
Motion design
Chat app/ messaging app/ product environment/ big tech/ enterprise organization

Minimum Qualifications

6+ years of relevant design experience.
Experience working on design systems, toolkit development, documentation, and stewardship.
Expert in Figma (Autolayout, Libraries, Tokens).
Experience working with Visual Systems assets (Illustrations & Icons).
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) or similar production related tools.
Experience with file management and versioning (Dropbox, Google Drive, GitHub).
Experience training others and scaling the organization/product/team knowledge base.
Experience with Google Slides.
Experience designing native platforms (iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows) as well as Web.
Familiar with HTML/CSS/Basic Markup.
Familiar with Github or similar tools.
Highly detail-oriented and a process thinker.
Experience thriving in the face of rapidly shifting priorities and frequent ambiguity.
Independent, but also communicates with and receives direction from cross functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience building a large design system at a major tech company.
Experience communicating ideas and presenting well to gain consensus on new ideas and processes.
Experience advocating for design systems teams and nurturing partnerships with product teams.
Experience communicating improvements to design tooling and process related initiatives through metrics.
Experience leveraging AI and cutting-edge design tools to drive innovation, improve workflow efficiency, and elevate creative output within dynamic design environments.
Prototyping experience.
