Our client, a leading manufacturer and distributor of cleaning and hygiene products, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join their team. As part of a close-knit team in a small dynamic company, the Finance Manager will oversee the day-to-day financial operations, manage a small finance team and work closely with senior management to provide financial insights, maintain robust controls and support key decision-making.
The responsibilities of the Finance Manager include but are not limited to the following:
Prepare and manage monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
Oversee the day-to-day finance operations including purchase/sales ledger, bank reconciliations and payroll.
Monitor cash flow and working capital, ensuring timely payments and credit control.
Liaise with external accountants and auditors to support year-end reporting and compliance.
Develop and improve financial systems, controls and reporting processes suited to a small business.
Skills, Experience & Key Candidate Attributes of the Finance Manager:
Proven experience as a Finance Manager, or similar, in a small or medium-sized business.
Comfortable in a hands-on role, managing both operational tasks and strategic input.
Strong understanding of core accounting functions, cash flow management and financial reporting.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to meet tight deadlines, manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
