Overview:
I am working with a forward-thinking MGA based in London that specializes in multiple lines of insurance across the market. They are seeking a highly organised, detail-oriented Cross Class Underwriting Assistant to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting underwriters across various insurance classes, ensuring smooth operations, accurate data management, and efficient workflow processes.

Role Summary:
The successful candidate will provide essential administrative and support functions to the underwriting team, assisting with data entry, document preparation, and communication with brokers and internal stakeholders. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to develop their underwriting knowledge and gain exposure to multiple insurance classes within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Support underwriters across different classes by preparing quotes, policies, and risk documentation
Review and verify risk data for accuracy and completeness
Maintain and update internal underwriting systems and databases
Coordinate with brokers, agents, and internal teams to collect necessary information and ensure clarity on policy details
Assist in monitoring workflow deadlines and ensuring timely completion of tasks
Prepare reports, summaries, and documentation for underwriting meetings and management review
Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
Identify opportunities to streamline administrative processes and improve efficiency
Candidate Profile:

Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Eager to learn and develop within the insurance industry
Familiarity with MS Office, especially Excel and Word (training can be provided if necessary)
Previous experience in an administrative, support, or underwriting role is desirable but not essential
Interest in insurance, risk assessment, or financial services is a plus
Qualifications & Experience:

GCSEs or equivalent qualifications, particularly in Maths and English
At least 1 year of experience in an administrative or support role (preferred)
Passion for developing a career within insurance
