About the Company
A specialist MGA (Managing General Agent) focused on Professional Indemnity (PI) insurance is expanding its team with the addition of an Underwriting Operations Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and respected business within the London insurance market, offering hands-on experience, great exposure to underwriters, and structured training.
Role Overview
As an Underwriting Operations Assistant, you’ll support the underwriting team in delivering accurate and efficient service across the full policy lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone at the early stages of their insurance career-whether a school leaver, graduate, or someone with 1-2 years’ insurance operations or administrative experience.
You’ll gain foundational exposure to the underwriting process while building a long-term career within a high-performing and friendly team.
Key Responsibilities
Support underwriters in processing new business, renewals, and endorsements
Input and maintain accurate policy data across internal systems
Prepare documentation such as schedules, quotes, and reports
Liaise with brokers and other stakeholders to resolve queries
Assist with compliance and regulatory checks (e.g., sanctions, licensing)
Track submissions and support MI reporting for the underwriting team
Maintain digital records and ensure data integrity across platforms
Help streamline operational processes and contribute to system improvements
What We’re Looking For
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team
Excellent written and verbal communication
Proactive and eager to learn
Competent in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Prior experience in an insurance role (admin, support, broking, claims) is a plus, but not required
Interest in building a career in underwriting or insurance operations
