Job Title: Commercial Motor – Claims Handler

Location: Birmingham Area/Hybrid

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 (pa) benefits

About the Role:

Are you an experienced claims professional looking for a new challenge? We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Commercial Motor Claims Handler, to join a dynamic broking department in the Birmingham area. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing insurance claims from start to finish, ensuring excellent service delivery and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle all claims efficiently, professionally, and within agreed service standards
Guide policyholders through the claims process and provide ongoing support
Investigate and assess claims, ensuring fair settlement while identifying potential fraud
Liaise and negotiate with claimants, solicitors, and third parties
Maintain and update claims files with accurate estimates and records
Coordinate repairs through approved professionals
Monitor claim progress and manage complaints associated with claims
Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

What You’ll Need:

Experience:

Experience within a claims handling or FCA-regulated environment preferred
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Excellent time management and organisational abilities
Ability to make fair and objective decisions under pressure
High attention to detail and sound report-writing skills
A proactive approach with the confidence to work both independently and as part of a team
Good understanding of insurance products, FCA guidelines, and claims best practices
