EAC are supporting an established and growing insurance brokerage who are seeking a Senior Commercial Account Handler to join its dynamic team. This is a pivotal role designed for an experienced professional who can provide exceptional service to clients, support business growth, and mentor junior colleagues.
This position is based in Bedford but allows hybrid working.

Salary £45,000
WFH days: Monday & Friday
25 days annual leave
Client & Revenue Support
Collaborate with senior colleagues to support client acquisition and retention.
Handle complex renewals and mid-term adjustments with minimal supervision.
Lead broking on large or non-standard risks, ensuring competitive terms and coverage.
Draft insurer presentations and negotiate with underwriters to secure favourable outcomes.
Serve as a primary contact for key client accounts, delivering high service standards.
Guide and support less experienced team members on technical and procedural matters.
Placement & Process Management
Maintain accurate client and policy records in line with internal procedures.
Ensure timely and compliant documentation for all client interactions.
Conduct quality assurance checks across broking activity and outputs.
Assist in improving internal workflows, templates, and process efficiencies.
Financial Accuracy & Reporting
Oversee invoicing processes and manage any related client or internal queries.
Work with finance and credit control teams to facilitate smooth premium collection.
Identify discrepancies and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Contribute to reporting on portfolio performance and renewal metrics.
Team Support & Leadership
Provide day-to-day coaching and support to Account Handlers.
Help onboard and train new team members on systems and procedures.
Share industry updates, product insights, and broking strategies with colleagues.
Foster a collaborative and client-focused team environment.
Professional Development
Keep up-to-date with market trends and regulatory changes.
Participate in ongoing training and CPD activities.
Lead by example with professional conduct, accuracy, and client service standards.
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience in a commercial insurance broking or handling role (5 years+)
Strong knowledge of commercial products including property, liability, motor, and specialist risks.
Confident in client communications and insurer negotiations.
Organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to mentor others and share expertise.
