To work within the commercial broking team, supporting Directors and Account Executives in acquiring, maintaining, and renewing commercial insurance policies.

The Commercial Account Handler plays a pivotal role in mentoring junior staff, maintaining key client relationships, and driving operational excellence in the Commercial Department.

Revenue Generation & Client Support

Support revenue growth and retention through expert client service and broking activities.
Key Responsibilities of the Commercial Account Handler:

Work closely with Directors and Account Executives to help achieve and exceed income targets.
Oversee preparation and accuracy of documentation issued to clients.
Manage complex renewals and mid-term adjustments, escalating only where necessary.
Take lead on broking for large or complex risks, using market knowledge to secure best terms.
Prepare insurer presentations and negotiate terms with underwriters.
Act as a key contact for strategic client queries and maintain high service standards.
Mentor and support junior handlers with training and technical queries.

Placement & Administration

Ensure efficient and compliant support processes are in place and executed consistently.
Key Responsibilities of the Commercial Account Handler:

Maintain accurate client files and ensure compliance with company procedures.
Proactively keep the company’s systems updated with client and policy information.
Lead quality control checks for documentation and processes within the team.
Assist in refining broking workflows and templates to improve efficiency.

Finance & Reporting

Drive financial accuracy and support business reporting.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee accurate and timely issue of client invoices and manage related queries.
Liaise with finance and credit control to ensure smooth premium collection.
Identify and address any finance discrepancies, coordinating resolutions promptly.
Provide insights and reporting on portfolio performance and renewal retention.

Team Leadership & Development

Support the growth and capability of the Commercial Team.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide guidance, coaching, and informal leadership to Account Handlers.
Help onboard and train new team members, ensuring understanding of company systems and culture.
Share market insights and best practices with the wider team.
Support the development of a positive, accountable, and client-focused team environment.
