Overview:
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to lead a high-performing team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for delivering the production schedule through effective planning, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration. Working closely with Planning, Auto Assembly, and other departments, the Production Manager ensures efficient workflow, strong communication, and high team performance aligned with the organisation’s values and goals.
This position also plays a key role in driving continuous improvement, innovation, and standardisation across the Finishing Cells, while maintaining world-class quality standards and fostering a positive, development-focused team culture.
Key Responsibilities
People Management & Development
Identify team strengths and development needs; implement tailored training plans.
Build and support a high-performing, cross-trained, and agile workforce.
Develop succession plans for key roles within the team.
Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous development.
Address underperformance constructively using appropriate tools.
Encourage open communication and a solutions-focused mindset.
Production Scheduling & Workflow
Execute and adapt the production schedule using IFS (ERP) to meet customer demand.
Collaborate with Planning and Assembly to ensure alignment across departments.
Monitor schedule adherence and proactively address bottlenecks.
Maintain visibility of short-, mid-, and long-term workload planning.
Communication & Collaboration
Build strong cross-functional relationships to eliminate silos.
Ensure clear communication of issues, exceptions, and outcomes.
Promote a “can-do” attitude and collaborative problem-solving.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Lead a culture of continuous improvement using lean tools and methodologies.
Develop and track KPIs that drive performance and support strategic goals.
Champion 5S practices and ensure top audit scores across the area.
Promote safety and report incidents and near misses promptly.
Participate in GEMBA walks and reinforce operational discipline.
Candidate Profile
Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement frameworks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
Data-driven with the ability to interpret and act on performance metrics.
Committed to high standards of quality, compliance, and safety.
Skilled in ERP systems (e.g., IFS or equivalent).
Collaborative mindset with a passion for team success.
