Interim Purchase Ledger Clerk

Hourly rate £13 to £15 per hour

Monday to Friday – 08:30 to 17:00 (Hybrid – 3 days office, 2 home)

Reed Accountancy are working with a large construction company on the outskirts of Southampton as they look to recruit a Purchase Ledger Clerk on a temporary 2-month basis (possible temp to perm for the right candidate).

Day-to-day of the role:
Process high-volume purchase ledger invoices.
Prepare and process payment runs for purchase ledger and subcontractor ledger.
Conduct monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
Manage purchase ledger queries from suppliers and staff in a professional and timely manner.
Set up new suppliers/subcontractors and make necessary amendments to existing suppliers.
Ensure VAT and CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) compliance.
Resolve workflow and aged debt queries.
Regularly review outstanding invoices.
Maintain subcontractor insurances.
Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in purchase ledger management.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong self-discipline and organisational skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in IT, particularly Excel and BACS.

Desirable

Knowledge of Coins software.
Understanding of CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) regulations.
