Location: Chorley, Lancashire
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum
Southam Selections are working with a leading credit hire company, dedicated to providing seamless vehicle replacement solutions for customers following non-fault accidents. They pride themselves on efficient service, strong customer focus, and reliable network of partners.
They are now looking for an experienced Supply Manager who can go in and lead a small team (who help the customer get their hire car) as well as build and strengthen relationships with local and nationwide suppliers.
This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a deep understanding of the credit hire and vehicle rental landscape. You will manage a small, dedicated team, empowering them to deliver outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a small team responsible for the timely and efficient delivery of replacement vehicles to customers after FNOL.
Build, nurture, and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key counterparts at our vehicle rental partners. You will be the primary point of contact, able to pick up the phone and “make things happen” to resolve any supply issues or secure specific vehicles.
Manage and develop our nationwide network of specialist vehicle suppliers (commercial, specialist, and taxi vehicles). This includes:
Regular communication and relationship building to ensure a robust and reliable supply chain.
Negotiating terms and fostering strong partnerships.
Identifying and onboarding new suppliers as required to meet evolving demand.
Supply Chain Optimisation: Continuously review and optimise the vehicle supply chain to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Team Leadership and Development: Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and support to your team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to vehicle supply and delivery, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Problem Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve any supply chain issues or challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to customer service.
Compliance: Ensure all vehicle supply operations adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
Reporting: Provide regular reports on supply chain performance to senior management.
Skills & Experience Required:
Proven Experience in Rental Supply: Demonstrable experience in managing vehicle supply, ideally within the credit hire, vehicle rental, or automotive logistics sectors.
Understanding of GTA and Insurance: A solid understanding of the General Terms of Agreement (GTA) and the broader insurance claims process.
Relationship Building: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to build and maintain strong, effective relationships with external partners.
Leadership: Experience in managing and motivating a small team to achieve targets.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and make decisive decisions under pressure.
Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing favourable terms with suppliers.
Organisational Skills: Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
IT Proficiency: Proficient in using relevant IT systems and software.
Customer Focus: A strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
