We’re Hiring! – Junior Design Product Developer (Maternity Cover)

I am ooking for a Junior Design Product Developer to join a premium, design-led furniture manufacturer based near High Wycombe. This is an exciting maternity cover opportunity for a creative and organised individual with a passion for fabric, upholstery, and product development.
Working within their dynamic Design department and reporting to the Creative Director, you will support the development and delivery of innovative products and fabric solutions across their UK Upholstery division.
?? Key Responsibilities:
Oversee fabric and upholstery development within the Design team for UK Upholstery
Collaborate with the Creative Director on the development of the Accent fabric swatch AW 2026, working with internal teams and key external supplier
Contribute to early development of fabric collections for 2027 and beyond
Manage fabric requests, swatch deliveries, and maintain fabric information across shared tools
Organise the fabric archive, files, and digital resources
Create swatch packs for design, development, and sales teams
Liaise with suppliers regarding fabric and upholstery development queries
Manage swatch boards and ensure all fabric charts are up to date across ranges
Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Sales, and Marketing to resolve fabric-related queries and logistics (cost, lead times, quality, stock, etc.)
Build strong relationships with upholstery suppliers and contribute to supplier research and trend boards
Assist the Creative Director with project management of New Product Introductions (NPIs) across internal and external manufacturers
Create Assembly Instruction documents for new products using Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop
Generate and manage fabric codes, and communicate changes to the wider business
Oversee showroom refresh and layout planning ahead of seasonal product launches (Spring 2026)
Salary – £25K-£35K (depending on experience)
Location – High Wycombe (Office Based)
