Bookkeeper

Salary: £30k – £35k DOE + Company benefits

Location: Brighton

Hours: Mon-Fri 9am-17.30pm

Are you an experienced Bookkeeper looking to join a successful, friendly, and well-established organisation in the heart of Brighton? This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a varied accounts function and work closely with senior leadership in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day bookkeeping activities and financial records of the business, reporting directly to the Directors. This role would suit someone who is confident, detail-oriented, and proactive in their approach.

Responsibilities:

Manage invoicing processes using QuickBooks.
Oversee supplier stock checks and place orders as needed.
Maintain and strengthen supplier and tenant relationships.
Handle credit control and rent arrears.
Perform full bank reconciliations and maintain company accounts.
Produce quarterly management accounts.
Attend and contribute to monthly finance meetings with Directors.
Manage both purchase and sales ledger including invoice generation, inputting, account management, and remittances.
Liaise with tenants and suppliers on financial matters.
Maintain accurate financial records and support timely decision-making.
Respond to incoming queries via phone and email in a professional manner.

The ideal candidate will have:

A solid background in bookkeeping and account management.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Experience using Excel and accountancy software (QuickBooks preferred).
The ability to build and maintain professional business relationships.
Confidence in managing your own workload and meeting deadlines.
